Developmental Therapy

Occupational therapy helps children build the skills they need to participate fully in everyday activities—from playing and learning to feeding, dressing, and managing big emotions. At Pure Pediatric Therapy, we provide personalized OT services in the comfort and familiarity of your own home, where children feel safe, and families can be fully involved in care.

Our services include comprehensive evaluations, individualized treatment sessions, developmental consultations, and customized home programs designed to fit seamlessly into your family’s daily routine. We also offer flexible scheduling to meet the needs of busy families.

We take a whole-child, whole-family approach—looking beyond isolated challenges to understand how sensory, motor, emotional, and environmental factors all work together. When appropriate, we support not only the child, but also the caregivers, helping to create a calm, confident, and connected home environment where everyone can thrive.

Our pediatric occupational therapists provide evaluation, intervention, family-centered home programs, and consultations in the following areas:

  • Fine Motor Skills

  • Handwriting

  • Play and Socialization

  • Sensory Integration

  • Motor skill organization and planning

  • Self Help & Hygiene

  • Environmental Adaptations

  • Oral Motor and Feeding Therapy

  • Motor Development

  • Torticollis and Plagiocephaly

Oral Motor and Feeding Therapy

Feeding is about so much more than just eating—it’s a complex skill that involves sensory processing, motor coordination, emotional regulation, and family routines. At Pure Pediatric Therapy, we offer compassionate and skilled oral motor and feeding therapy in the comfort of your home, where your child can feel safe and supported during mealtimes.

We work with infants, toddlers, and children of all ages to address a wide range of feeding challenges, including difficulty latching or bottle-feeding, transitioning to solids, picky eating, oral motor delays, sensory-based feeding issues, and mealtime stress. Our approach begins with a thorough evaluation, followed by individualized treatment, parent coaching, and home programs that fit into your family’s everyday life.

Our therapists look at the whole child—considering sensory needs, developmental readiness, medical history, and family dynamics—to create a plan that supports not just feeding success, but confidence and connection around meals. We also offer flexible scheduling and caregiver involvement every step of the way, so progress can happen where it matters most: at home, with you.

Oral Motor and Feeding therapy can help address the following areas:

  • Gagging, coughing, choking, vomiting, congestion (noisy, gurgling) during feeding

  • Difficulty transitioning from breast to bottle, baby foods, solids and various textures

  • Abnormal suck-swallow, prolonged feeding time, excessive fluid loss during feeding

  • Refuses new foods; picky eater

  • Decreased tolerance to food on hands/face, turns head away, locks lips, does not want to self-feed

  • Does not chew food, or chews minimally

  • Anxious/irritable with eating, refuses to eat, disruptive during mealtime

  • Growth issues due to failure to consume enough nutrients, as in the case with active reflux

**At Pure Pediatric Therapy, oral motor/feeding therapy is always provided by a licensed occupational therapist with advanced practice certification in feeding and swallowing (SWC)
